Suction and discharge hoses (also known as suction and delivery hoses) are one of the largest hoses we make in terms of diameter, and they’re normally composed of flexible PVC with a helix. Depending on the use and endurance required, the flexibility of these hoses can range from rigid to ultra flexible.
These hoses work under negative pressure, which means they may pull water, slurries, and a variety of other things from a static source like a tank or pool. Depending on the hose, they can survive a wide range of temperatures, however they’re usually built to tolerate vacuum rather than pressure, abrasion, or heat. The PVC helix, which may be found in most suction hoses, helps to prevent crushing and kinking.
